High Volume - The production capabilities of plastic extrusion technology allows you to manufacture high volumes.

Low Cost, Fast Production - Compared to steel, plastic is a cheap material. The production process of plastic extrusion is also designed to offer low cost tooling and short lead times. This means you could produce a high volume of products relatively quickly.

Versatile - Plastic extrusion is extremely versatile. It allows you to create products of complex shapes with different sizes, thicknesses, hardnesses, textures and colours.

Co-Extrusion -Plastic extrusion allows the option of co-extrusion. Unlike single layer extrusion (also called monolayer extrusion), this extrusion process involves two or more extruders. Molten plastic is simultaneously streamed from different extruders at varying speeds and thicknesses into a single extrusion head which forms the materials into the required profile shape.

The co-extrusion process enables manufacturers to incorporate different plastic materials and compounds into one product. Multiple layers are created which are then ‘fused’ into one. This allows manufacturers to tailor a product to meet different function or market requirements - something with monolayer extrusion you cannot do. For example, manufacturers can add UV treatment to the plastic through additives.

Extrusion Coating - This coating of plastic or film is applied to an extruded plastic sheet as an additional layer of treatment to improve the properties of the product.
